Flash Fiction Monday: Be Strong and Courageous

Be strong and courageous.

Words echoed in her mind, had trouble settling in her soul. Why did people frighten her?

Another form passed, entered the sparsely filled room, the scent of coffee heavy in the air. Her feet remained rooted, her heart in a gallop. It was just Sunday School, right?

A hard swallow. Another figure joined the room.

Teeth gritted, she took a tentative step forward, then another.

Step out of your comfort zone, Lylah.

Time to face the world.

“Hello,” a friendly voice said.

She smiled.
